# Manual install for Claude Code

Prefer [`talotrace setup`](/install/setup-command). Use this page when you want the plugin itself.

The plugin brings the TaloTrace skills and the MCP server for one environment. Install the one you follow:

The plugin repository is private while the pilot runs, so you need access to the Growtrics GitHub organisation.

## First use

The first TaloTrace tool call opens your browser to sign in. That sign-in covers tunnels only. When a tool answers `INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE`, your agent asks you and, on your yes, runs `talotrace login --tools`. See [Sign in](/sign-in).

Reload Claude Code after installing, then run [Check your install](/check-your-install).

Do not install the plugin of two environments in the same project: their tools reach different projects.
